The Society of Georgia Archivists will offer the "Acquisition, Processing and Reference of Legislative Collections" workshop on May 21-22, 1998 at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library in Atlanta, GA. The two-day workshop will focus on the acquisition, appraisal, processing and reference of modern congressional and other legislative collections. It will also consider related issues such as donor relations and fundraising. The workshop will be presented by Herbert J. Hartsook, Curator of Modern Political Collections at the University of South Carolina, and Cynthia Pease Miller, Assistant Historian with the US House of Representative's Legislative Resource Center.
This well-received, two-day workshop is a program of the SAA Congressional Papers Roundtable and has previously been presented for the Society and the Midwest Archives Conference in Washington, DC, Indianapolis and Chicago. It has attracted both senior and relatively new archivists drawn from all regions of the US and Canada.
Pre-registration for the two-day workshop is $85 for SGA members and $125 for non-members. Registration after May 8th is $100 for SGA members and $140 for non-members.
