KCA Fall 2026 Call for Proposals

The Kentucky Council on Archives invites archivists, librarians, museum professionals, records managers, historians, students, and allied professionals to submit proposals for presentations at our upcoming Fall meeting in Eastern Kentucky (specific location TBD).

This year’s conference, "Community of Practice: Sharing, Learning, and Supporting One Another", recognizes the importance of collaboration and community in the archival profession. Archives of all sizes face challenges related to limited resources, evolving technologies, staffing, preservation needs, and increasing demands on our collections and services. By sharing knowledge, skills, resources, and experiences, we can strengthen our institutions and support one another.

You do not need to have a large project, major grant, or groundbreaking discovery to have something valuable to share.

Consider submitting a proposal if you have:

● Developed a solution to a common archival problem

● Learned something the hard way and want to share your experience

● Created a useful workflow, tool, template, or resource

● Collaborated with another institution or professional

● Developed a successful training or professional development initiative

● Found creative ways to accomplish more with limited resources

● A project that demonstrates the value of cooperation and mutual support

Practical, honest, and experience-based presentations are encouraged. We want this conference to be a place where colleagues can learn from one another and leave with ideas, resources, and connections they can put to use.

DEADLINE for submissions: October, 12
